Three Tasks You Can Automate in Notion Today (No Coding)

Stop copying and pasting the same info every day. Here are three simple automations you can set up in five minutes.

I used to waste at least 20 minutes a day moving tasks between databases, updating statuses, and tagging projects. Then I discovered Notion's automations — and they're way easier than you think.

Start with a recurring task template. If you have a weekly check-in that needs the same subtasks each time, create a template button. With one click, you get a pre-filled page with all the checklists, due dates, and assignees. That alone saved me 10 minutes per meeting.

Next, set up a status change automation. When a task moves to 'Done', have it automatically update a 'Completed Date' property and move it to an archive database. No more manual cleanup at the end of the week.

Finally, use rollups to track progress without any effort. Instead of counting tasks by hand, set a rollup that shows the percentage of completed tasks in a project. It updates itself whenever you check something off.

Try one of these today. You'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner.
