Why I Switched from Trello to Notion for Client Work (And Never Looked Back)

Trello was fine for simple lists, but my clients needed more context. Here's how Notion changed my workflow.

I used Trello for years. Kanban boards are great until each card needs a brief, a timeline, file attachments, and a feedback thread. Suddenly you're clicking into every card and losing the big picture.

Notion lets me keep everything in one view. A client project has a database where each entry is a full page — brief, assets, revision history, and notes. I can see the status at a glance without opening anything. That might sound small, but it cut my project review time in half.

The real game-changer was the ability to link databases. I have a client database, a task database, and an invoice database. When I create a task for a client, it automatically pulls in their contact info and rate. No more searching for emails or pasting the same details over and over.

Now I manage 15+ client projects from a single Notion workspace. Trello would have required at least 15 boards and a lot of tab-switching. If you're on the fence, try a project management template in Notion for your next client. You'll see the difference.
